Powerful Beyond Measure

Welcome to my New blog!

First post ever in a real blog that is.  Just started school full-time for Web Development.  As part of the course I have to establish and maintain a student blog, so here it is my first post.  I’m excited to see where this new journey will take me and hopeful about future opportunities.  Tad bid about myself, I love, love, love photography!  I actually started this program with the intent to learn Photoshop CS5 in-depth to hone in on my photography editing skills.  I have been photographing for exactly one year, and I’m definitely a Nikon fan!  I’ve self-taught myself everything I know about photography up to this point via photography magazines, forums, blogs, reviews, Flickr, and things of that nature.  When I started out I wanted to take candid portraits of people, somehow I ended up taking mostly images of birds and wildlife.  I think that I enjoy the action wildlife offers, but challenges of an unpredictable environment, animals and lighting conditions.

Today, I still take shots of birds and wildlife, but my true passion is capturing images of people really doing what they do everyday.  In reality all I’m doing is capturing the “missed everyday moments” most would never look to seize, yet when captured in an image its magical,  and you get asked “How did you do that?”  or “Wow, that’s amazing!”   To that, my goal is to improve my editing and photography skills, yet somehow marry it with Web Development in some form.  Hopefully, you’ll want to follow along with me in my new journey and offer positive feedback.  I’ll post more about my other interests in the near future.  I want to end my first post by linking one of my favorites “motivational videos and poems”, I think what does it for me in this video it’s the content of what’s being said and tone, along with the music.  Here’s to new beginnings…. be sure to check out the video and let me know what you thought.  Thank you.

Our Deepest Fear

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear

is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness,

that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,

talented and fabulous?

Actually who are we not to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking

so that other people

won’t feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine as children do.

We were born to make manifest

the glory of God that is within us.

It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.

And when we let our own light shine,

we unconsciously give other people

permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear,

our presence automatically liberates others.”
